Day One: Nairobi
You will be picked from the airport and transferred to your Kenya base hotel for meals and overnight. The drive from the airport to your hotel would be about 30 minutes.
Day Two-Five: Nguruman Hills

The Nguruman Hills are considered to be some of the best hiking areas in Kenya. There are spectacular sceneries, water falls, virgin forests, primates like the vervet monkeys, baboon and quite a number of antelopes among them the dik dik, gazelle, impala, duikers and a variety of birds. During the hikes, we will be accompanied by Masai guides who inhabit this area. Besides the animals and birds, we will also be learning about the medicinal value of the plants in the forest. The Masais have been taking care of the illness through the herbs that they collect in the forests.
There are two options for this trip. Participants could decide to carry their luggages or have porters carry their packs. On trips that there are porters, we also include donkeys and support vehicles that will help in carrying the group gear. We will be hiking across different terains from hills to flat savannah, we will cross rivers and sleep among the wildlife that is found in the forest. On average you will be hiking between four and six hours. Hike are normally done very early to avoid the sun especially on the open lands.
Day Six-Eight: Masai Mara

There will be a last evening “graduation’ on outdoor navigation and other wilderness training that we would be doing as we hike across these great hills. Our hike will end at the Loita Hills which is believed to be home of the original Masai spiritual leader. Once in the Masai Mara, we will be exposed to the greatest wildlife school in the world. During the wildebeest migration across the Masai Mara, there are over 1.5 million wildebeest, zebras and Thompson gazelles that cross the river to “follow” food. This has made the Masai Mara to be elevated to one of the wonders of the modern! Meals and overnight at one of the lodges in the Masai Mara. Accommodation could also be in one of the locally run camp. The camp offers tented accommodation targeting students.
Day Nine: Lake Nakuru-Hells Gate
From the Masai Mara we head to Lake Nakuru. This park has been referred to as the world greatest bird spectacle by the renowned ornithologist, Tory Peterson. During our visit at this park, we will get to learn more about the birdlife in Kenya and the environmental challenges that the park encounters. From Lake Nakuru we transfer to Elsamere Centre for overnight. This was George and Joy Adamson (of the famed Born Free movie) home. Accommodation at the Elsamere Field Centre.
Day Ten-Fifteen: Mt. Kenya

From Lake Nakuru, our journeys will take us to Mt. Kenya. By this time we would have trained and rested enough for the mountain challenge. Mt. Kenya offers some of the best mountain features for studies. The mountain holds quite a number of endemic plants, animals and birds. The different mountain terrain also offers climbers lots of quality hikes and for rock climbers, you won’t be disappointed by the mountain.
Day Sixteen: Nairobi
Upon descending from the mountain, you will be transferred to Nairobi. There will be dayrooms reserved for refreshements. Late evening transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
NB: For those who have extra time, there is an extension to Island of Lamu, Mpeketoni and Kiwaiyu.

From the mountain, we head back to Nairobi and proceed to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight to Lamu. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation for meals and overnight. The next morning will be departing to the Islands of Kiwaiyu and Mpeketoni. Our travels to these island will be in sail boats. During your stay in these two islands, you will get to snorkel, dive, fish and get to visit with the local fishermen. There is a school that we support in Kiwaiyu and you will get a chance to visit the school.
Day Twenty: Nairobi
We depart Lamu late afternoon for your flight to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Since you will be arriving in the domestic unit, we will transfer you to the international departure lounge to connect with your onward flight back home.
