The Kenyan coast has golden sand beaches which are washed by the warm Indian Ocean water. The hundreds of beach resorts of international class, spread along the coast offering a multitude of water sports and swimming pools. The city of Mombasa is located at the coast and has an international airport. You can choose to land there direct or via Nairobi . In addition to sun bathing and relaxing in the beach you can travel direct by air to the game parks and reserves by road to those near the coast. The natural beauty of the Kenyan coast coupled with its rich history, make it an exotic paradise like no other in the world. As you travel from the coast you begin ascending the Kenyan highlands with mountain like Mt. Elgon , the Aberdares and Mt Kenya which lies at the equator but has snow on its peaks throughout the year. There are natural forests at the coast and in the slopes of the Kenyan highlands.
The great Rift valley which cuts across Kenya is another attraction with various fresh water and salty volcanic lakes with steam geysers that teem with birdlife hippos and fish. The northern parts of Kenya is semi desert and sparsely populated but is a stunning beauty. You will find the Jade Sea of Turkana and nomadic tribes with their camel and livestock.
